Brea residents push back on city’s deal for developer’s planned Costco

A controversial incentive package meant to bring a Costco location to Brea is drawing mounting scrutiny, with residents accusing city leaders of cutting an unusually generous deal behind closed doors that would funnel most of the project’s sales tax revenue to the developer for decades.
