Culver City inks exclusive right to buy ex-Sony campus after Fortress takeover
The City of Culver City has the exclusive right to buy the ex-Sony Pictures campus. The creative office campus was owned by Hackman Capital Partners, until Michael Hackman’s outfit defaulted on its debt, and Fortress Investment Group took over. Fortress Investment Group declined to comment, and Culver City did not immediately respond to a request. The City Council and Culver City Public Finance Authority approved a purchase option agreement, the Culver City Observer reported on Oct. 1.
