Fullerton eyes downtown parking lots for multifamily development
Fullerton officials are sizing up three city-owned parking sites in downtown for potential sale or lease to housing developers, opening a new front in the city’s push to add homes while grappling with a budget shortfall. The City Council voted last week to authorize staff to explore the properties under California’s surplus land rules and begin soliciting developer interest, Voice of O.C. reported. The sites include a vacant portion of the SOCO parking garage at 130 West Santa Fe Avenue, the Fullerton Transit Center parking structure at 122 North Pomona Avenue and a surface lot at 125 West Chapman Avenue.
