Habitat for Humanity pitches affordable for-sale homes in South Gate
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles is eyeing a vacant lot in South Gate for redevelopment into affordable, for sale-housing. The empty property at 9019 Long Beach Boulevard is poised for construction of 14 three-story townhomes, Urbanize Los Angeles reported. The homes would range between 1,000 and 1,372 square feet, and each would have its own two-car garage. The City of South Gate will have to approve an environmental clearance and modifications to certain zoning rules to allow reductions to setbacks and taller perimeter fences.
