Hong Kong developer ups apartments, gets OK for project in heart of suburban Chinatown
A long-vacant corner in Monterey Park is finally headed toward redevelopment after the City Council approved an expanded version of the project. The council approved the amended development agreement and tentative map for the Celadon project at 114 East Garvey Avenue, clearing the way for Rykadan 005 LLC to build the seven-story residential building, Hoodline reported. The developer is an affiliate of Hong Kong-based Rykadan Capital. The development will include 169 one- and two-bedroom apartments, 16,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space, parking for 343 vehicles and a new public plaza.
