Irvine Company pares down Oak Creek Golf Club housing redevelopment plans

Irvine Company tweaked its plans for the Oak Creek Golf Club to include less housing.  The Irvine-based firm’s new proposal to redevelop 280 acres with housing calls for 2,400 new units of housing, down from a previous plan for 3,100 residences, the Orange County Register reported. The downsizing came after questions arose about the limited open space in the initial proposal. “We spoke with over 10,000 residents, and the near-universal theme was a desire for a balance of for-sale homes to meet the community’s diverse needs,” Rob Elliott, Irvine Company’s senior vice president for planning and design, told the Register.
