LA County signs off on housing, commercial expansion at Willowbrook campus
Century Housing and Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Science have gotten the go-ahead from county officials for a large mixed-use development in Willowbrook. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors gave final approval to the CDU Wellness & Education Campus, Urbanize Los Angeles reported. The Board of Supervisors also certified the project’s environmental review after finding it complies with the California Environmental Quality Act. The 14-acre site where the development is planned is primarily owned by the Compton Unified School District, while the Los Angeles County Development Authority owns another parcel designated for a 700-space parking structure.
