Multifamily boom brewing in LA, OC as developers file flood of apartment plans
Los Angeles and Orange counties are on track for a multifamily development boom, with apartment plan filings hitting a 10-year high. Builders filed 16,643 permits for multifamily units from January through August for L.A. and O.C. counties, an 82-percent jump from the same period last year, the Orange County Register reported, citing figures from the U.S. Census Bureau. The number of requested permits in the first eight months of the year is the most since 2015, and the second-most since 1990.
