OC judge faces looming deadline to keep upzoning measure off ballot

A developer-backed ballot measure that could slash Newport Beach’s planned housing growth may not go before voters this November after all. Orange County Superior Court Judge Julianne Bankcroft has until Aug. 28 to decide whether the Responsible Housing Initiative can remain on the ballot, as the Orange County Registrar of Voters says ballots must soon go to print, Voice of OC reported.
