William Lyon — a.k.a. Bill Lyon, son of the late Orange County real estate magnate General William Lyon, and an industry executive in his own right — has cut Republican candidate for California governor Steve Hilton a $39,200 check. Lyon did not immediately respond to a request for comment. He made the donation in early August, campaign finance records revealed.
