Original Farmers Market owner buys remains of historic Fairfax Theatre at 83% discount
The halfway demolished Fairfax Theatre has found a new owner after years of remaining vacant. A.F. Gilmore Company, the owner of the Original Farmers Market, bought the historic theater at 7901-7909 Beverly Boulevard for $7.2 million, L.A. Business First reported. The seller, Alex Gorby of B&F Associates, listed the property last year for $45 million. Gorby has owned the property since 1970 and was locked in back-and-forth negotiations with A.F.
