Sobrato Organization donates $10K to Xavier Becerra’s governor campaign
More former Matt Mahan real estate donors are now backing Xavier Becerra after their first choice for California governor failed to advance to the runoff — the latest is the Sobrato family, a Silicon Valley development dynasty. The wealthy family behind the Sobrato Organization donated $10,000 to Becerra’s campaign in mid-July, according to campaign finance data from the California Secretary of State. The Sobrato Organization did not respond to a request for comment. Previously, the Sobrato Organization chairman emeritus John Sobrato and his wife Sue each gave the max, about $157,000 in total, to San Jose Mayor Mahan in February.
