Abode Communities plots 94 affordable rentals on Hawthorne-owned land
Hawthorne is gaining an affordable housing complex on city-owned land near the intersection of Rosecrans and Prairie Avenues. Abode Communities is moving forward with plans to build residences on a vacant lot on Cordary Avenue next to New Journey Ministries Church of God in Christ, Urbanize Los Angeles reported. Abode is looking to build a five-story structure with 94 apartments restricted to renters earning up to 80 percent of the area median income. That works out to roughly $84,850 for one person or $121,150 for a household of four.
