Pink Reveals She Quit California Vineyard To Move to New York So Her 14-Year-Old Daughter Could Pursue Her Broadway Dreams

Pop star Pink has laid bare her 14-year-old daughter Willow's dreams of being a Broadway performer—revealing that she moved her entire family to New York so the teenager could be one step closer to that goal.

The singer is currently guest-hosting fellow songstress Kelly Clarkson's talk show from its Big Apple studio. During the March 2 episode, when Pink was joined by her daughter, she opened up about her family's relocation from California to the East Coast.

Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, gave Willow the perfect opportunity to showcase her singing skills by welcoming her onto the stage for a performance of "Hopeless War" from the Tony Award-winning musical, "The Outsiders."

She then gushed about her daughter's talents, before revealing how her family is so committed to helping Willow succeed that they moved across the country to enable her to follow her dream.

“We actually moved here because I am an amazing mom—and also so Willow could study theater and experience more Broadway," Pink said.

Songstress Pink has revealed her 14-year-old daughter Willow's plans to pursue a Broadway career as she lifted the lid on her family's move to New York.

Before relocating to New York, Pink had been living in California with her husband, Carey Hart, and their son, Jameson, 9—however they are understood to have moved to the Big Apple early this year, according to Page Six.

The outlet reported in February that the singer had made the move east, with sources suggesting that she had spent time in the city over the summer, when she is thought to have been scoping out locations for her family to live.

In addition to Willow's ambitions, however, one insider suggested there may be another reason for Pink's move, hinting that the singer is being lined up to take over "The Kelly Clarkson Show" for good after its original host revealed that she is stepping down.

"She’s been guest-hosting and it seems she’s doing very well, and that’s the plan," the insider claimed.

While Pink has not yet commented on the reports, she has been very open about her daughter's future goals, telling People in May 2024: "She wants to do Broadway and then be a trauma surgeon.

“Yeah, she's rad. She's got a voice, man. She's a little bird."

It's currently unclear whether Pink and her spouse have purchased a home in New York or whether they are testing the waters in a rental property before committing permanently to life in the Big Apple.

However they may find it tough to secure a New York dwelling that rivals their California home base: a stunning 25-acre vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley, where Pink began producing her own wine label, Two Wolves.

Records show that the singer purchased the sprawling property for $8.99 million in 2013—five years before she unveiled her wine to the world.

The update on the family's move comes mere days after the singer furiously denied rumors that she and her husband of 20 years are separating as she branded the reports "fake news."

She took to Instagram to refute claims that she and Hart, who first tied the knot in 2006, had called it quits.

"So I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband, I didn’t know. Thank you for letting me know. Would you also like to tell our children? My 14- and 9-year-old are also unaware.

"Do you want to want to talk about my accomplishments or do you only want to talk about my supposed demise? So fake news, not true. I love you all," she said.

Pink's vicious rebuttal comes after People reported that the singer, and the former motocross racer, 50, were splitting up.

The couple first met in 2001 at the Summer X Games in Philadelphia. In 2005, Hart proposed and they tied the knot in 2006.

However, two years later, they revealed that they had separated.

But by 2009, the couple revealed they reconciled and were going strong.

"We're rebuilding. Sometimes you have to take a couple of steps backwards to move forward," Pink told People at the time.

In 2021, Pink revealed to the outlet how her marriage with Hart has seen its fair share of challenges but said that she and Hart were working through them day by day.

“Long-term relationships are not easy. It is much easier to stay in the solid days and jump from relationship to relationship, because then you don't have to fix the problems that keep recurring," she said.

"You have to end up fixing yourself; you can't fix the other person. So it can be challenging, and there's good days and there's bad days."

The singer also noted that she thinks it is unrealistic to expect any two people in a relationship to follow the exact same path—explaining that she and Hart worked at allowing one another to grow in their own way, while also sticking together as a unit.

“I think it’s an impossible expectation for you to think that you’re going to evolve at exactly the same pace as another person in exactly the same direction. So it takes work to redefine what's important.

"I don't want to break up my family. That's been my main goal, since I had a broken family. Sometimes you have to let it go. You can't die on every mountain."

Two years later, she added, "He and I are independent to a fault. That’s probably why we’ve stayed together so long, because we can live completely separately and then be together. We don’t need each other. We choose each other.”
